THE CHRISTMAS TIMES
Greetings to all you dears,
I have been on a bookspree again! My ever-growing collection of books should expect around 20 new additions this December Holidays. Well, I have solemnly pledged to persevere in this blog, so it's here to stay for some while. And I am going to hone my writing skills by putting up a review for all of the books I've read thus far in this holiday.
Many new YA books are out this month. Do head to Kinokuniya to have a good look. Here's 10 books for you to drool after:
1. Lola & the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (you'd remember the total hottie, Etienne St. Clair, from her bestseller-- Anna & the French Kiss)
2. The Mephisto Convenant: The Redemption of Ajax by Trinity Faegen (A whole new series, forbidden love, again. But it never gets old, does it?)
3. Shatter Me by Tahareg Mafi (A dystopian, that seems like the current rage for YA authors)
4. Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay (A twist to the classic Romeo & Juliet, where it turns out Shakespeare got it all wrong. Romeo never did love Juliet, and after countless of reincarnations, let's see how out heroine gets her revenge & true love)
5. The Name of the Star (Shades of London #1) by Maureen Johnson (In the Victorian Era, what can be more unforgettable than Jack the Ripper?)
6. Legend by Marie Lu (let's see, yes, another dystopian. Meet rich girl & most wanted criminal. Do I see sparks fly?)
7. Divergent by Veronica Roth (What can I say? Was voted best book of 2011! But many say that that's just too much hype and hoopla. Go find out by yourself) *might not be available at Kinokuniya
8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (star-crossed love. Don't say 'not again'. This one's refreshing)
9. Gossip Girl: the Graphic Novel (Yes! We see the NYtimes bestseller turn manga! The story is slightly different but we still love S & B. Hmm... I for one never did read the GG series before, but the graphic novel is much more interesting!)
10. Night Circus (don't miss it, if you stand to be convinced, go read my review again!!!!!!!)
That's all for now! Soak in the sea of words & you may find the island of literature (wait, does this make sense?)
Merry merry Christmas,
Sel xoxoxo
