Tour Kick-off: Maid of Secrets

The official blog tour for Jennifer McGowan's MAID OF SECRETS begins today! Over the next two weeks, various blogs around the blogosphere will be posting their reviews of the book as well as exclusive interviews with the author, the Elizabethan spies and guest posts about writing, publishing and historical fiction.

Check this page daily for the updates on the links of each new tour stop and do try your luck in the international giveaway.

The winner will be announced on the last day of the tour where I will also be posting my review of this book (trust me, it's good).

Let the tour begin!

Seventeen-year-old Meg Fellowes is a wry, resourceful thief forced to join an elite group of female spies in Queen Elizabeth’s Court. There she must solve a murder, save the Crown, and resist the one thing that will become her greatest freedom–and her deadliest peril.

For Meg and her fellow spies are not alone in their pursuit of the murderer who stalks Windsor Castle.

A young, mysterious Spanish courtier, Count Rafe de Martine, appears at every turn in the dark and scandal-filled corridors of the Queen’s summer palace. And though secrets and danger are Meg’s stock-in-trade, she’s never bargained on falling in love…

  1. Sel!!

Thank you so much for this kickoff and to all of the AMAZING participants who've already started tweeting Waiting on Wednesday's posts. I sincerely am blessed that you found me and that you chose MAID OF SECRETS as one of your books to champion.

    Thank you!!

    1. You're absolutely welcome, Jenn!!

MAID OF SECRETS was a book that made me went "OH MY, I need to contact the author straightaway" when I read its blurb on Goodreads :) So happy that we could work together on promoting this book! And if I could choose again, I won't hesitate to organise a blog tour for this.

So keep on rockin', Jenn! The next two weeks will be MAID OF SECRETS's chance to shine :D

  2. It's awesome to see that the tour kicks off today!

  3. Well my favorites are A Great and Terrible Beauty Series and OF COURSE Grave Mercy and Dark Shadows!

  4. I haven't read Maid of Secrets yet, but I LOVE historical fiction. Some of my favorites are The Diviners, Between Shades of Gray, Born Wicked, Out of the Easy, and The Infernal Devices series.

    1. I love historical fiction too <3 I've been eyeing Out of the Easy for the past month and will definitely buy it when my wallet feels slightly heavier ;)

  5. Kelley, I *loved* Grave Mercy and still have Dark Shadows to read! I will be checking out A Great and Terrible Beauty.

Henrietta, thank you so much for your post and your tweets!

    Onward! :)

  6. Christine, hello! I have The Diviners at home... it's HUGE! So that will be a "reward" read. :) Born Wicked is AMAZING and I also love The Infernal Devices. I will have to check out Between Shades of Gray and Out of the Easy!

If you read Maid of Secrets, I hope you enjoy it!

(I keep writing "Maid of Secrest"... which would be an entirely different book ;)

  7. I'm very excied! :D I read many (adult and YA) historical fiction, like Grave Mercy (YA) and the books from Philippa Gregory (adult)

  8. Very interesting. I am very curious with the storyline.

  9. I am hoping to follow the Tour. I do like YA literature and hope to be able to recommend books to my granddaughter.

    The story line intrigues me.

  10. I loved Maid of Secrets! And thanks Sel for letting me be part of the tour :)
I think Maid of Secrets is tied with Grave Mercy for my favourite YA historical

    1. You're absolutely welcome, Richa! :)

  11. Mel, Filia, Donna and Richa, thank you so much for your posts and interest in Maid of Secrets!

And Richa(!!) yours is high praise indeed. THANK YOU!

  12. I haven't read Maid of Secrets and I love historical fiction so I'm looking forward to reading it. Some of my favorites include Between Shades of Grey, The Book Thief and The Bronze Horseman series.

  13. So happy to be a part of this tour. I loved Maid of Secrets. :)

  14. This book sounds great! I used to read a ton of historical fiction, so it's hard to choose a favorite, but one series that comes to mind is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
